Bye-Bye Kenna

Our CA, Ms. Kenna, decided to take a different job where she only has to work 4 days a week, instead of 5...we can't blame her. Jen has been filling in quite a bit and it's been nice to connect her with the patients. As well, little Makenna has been there too- the patients certainly love her the most! Our new CA starts tomorrow- we'll make sure to post a picture of Natalie as soon as we're able. Bye Kenna- thank you so much for all of your help. Best wishes to a great future!

On the Look-Out!

We're in need of a new chiropractic assistant. We are very sad to say that Kenna has found a different job with better hours for her and her family and she has put in her two weeks notice. If you have anyone in mind, please email us with the details. We are in need of someone asap! :)

Our numbers

We are thrilled to say that last week we saw 89 patients!!!!!!!!!! Our opening week, we had 12 patients come through the door and in 12 weeks, we have grown leaps and bounds! Basically, every week we've been open has brought in more patients than the week before! Dr. Ben and Kenna are happy to help and love spreading the wealth! The more the merrier and keep 'em coming! :)

Official Ribbon Cutting

Dr. D joined the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce. They officially open your business with a ribbon cutting and celebration. We had around 25 "Chamber people" attend the event and then of course Jen's grandparents are always there to support too! The food was delish and the event went off without a hitch! Nice job, Dohrmann Chiropractic! What mighty good deeds you are doing every day!

90 Days of Helping People!

Well friends, we've been open 3 months! Kenna has just been unbelievable and we've met so many fantastic new friends and patients! We are so happy to have you in our lives. Thank you again for your support and love. It is appreciated more than you can ever imagine! Here's to another fabulous 90! :)

A few updated pictures

We installed a few light fixtures quickly after our first day of being open, however we hadn't taken any pictures of them. They make the office look so inviting and cozy. It's amazing how many people notice something so minor. We're glad you like them! :) The first one is of the front desk area, and the next one is in the neck traction room.

Grand Opening Open House

We had an extremely successful Open House!! We had over 75 people come through our practice and get a quick tour and a wonderful bite (or two) to eat!! We had a family friend of ours do the food and it was absolutely AMAZING!! Thank you to all who were able to come out and be supportive of us and our new endeavor! We sincerely appreciate you and your friendships!! And please-- if you weren't able to stop in, feel free to come see us anytime!

We think it was fate that we hired a chiropractic assistant named Kenna, but we're totally okay with it! She seriously rocks! Wahoo- we got a good one, folks...watch out! We'd love for you to meet her, but until then- here's her picture. :)

The website is now live!

The practice website, http://www.kcfamilywellness.com/ is now live! Check it out! We decided not to use "Dohrmann" in the domain name as it is difficult to spell. With a focus on working with families and the goal for each patient to achieve greater wellness, KCFamilyWellness made perfect sense!

They're moving quick!

We've had so many things going on, we literally can't keep caught up on taking the pictures, uploading them, and then downloading them to the blog! Anyway, here are a few new ones.

They are basically finished with the office at this point. We hired a guy to help with the reception area floor- it looks really great. The carpet was installed today and it looks good as well. They were finishing up putting down the base boards tonight and the inspector will be coming at the end of the week. They've also hung our sign on the front of the building too.

We're just in complete amazement really. Four years ago he started this whole process and now look at us- opening up a place to benefit people's lives and health in less than 3 weeks. It's pretty awesome!

Paint and counter-tops!

Ahhhhh!! Things just keep rolling right along! They painted this past weekend and they now have the counter tops sitting there to be mounted! It looks fabulous!! The paint colors are perfect and the laminate matches perfectly. We're hoping our guy can get in there at the end of this week to do our acid-stain concrete work too. I also just heard from our photographer and it sounds like we'll have some awesome art too! :) The day just keeps getting better!

Quick Update

We've had lots going on with the new office! Besides the build out process, we also found what we think is a fantastic fit for our staff. Her name is Kenna and she'll serve as our Chiropractic Assistant! We were so excited to hire someone with so much experience, the friendliest smile you've ever seen, and a caring, kind heart. We can just tell- we can't wait for you to meet her!

The sheet rock is completely put up, the inspector has come, the electricity is done, and the lights are set! We've picked out the carpet, trim, base boards, desk laminate, and paint colors. Ben has applied with insurance companies, has a computer program ready to set up, real life business cards, a logo, and a website (that will be up and running asap)! We'll actually take appointments if you'd like to make one!!

We're hoping to open up March 9, 2009 and possibly having a Grand Opening Open House on the 12th. We'd love for you to join us- come see our new place! We're so proud.

We've signed the lease!!

It's serious- it's real- it's SOOOO exciting!! Ben signed the lease this morning and they will begin build-out tomorrow! We are so anxious to serve the patrons of the community, better their lives, and help keep them happy and healthy!!! Congratulations, Ben- once again..we're all extremely proud of you. We have so many wonderful opportunities ahead of us!

Graduation Clip

Time for a get-a-way!

Ben and Jen went on a vacation to Mexico over Christmas...a well deserved break! They had a blast and also got the last bit of great information while there. On December 26, Dr. Ben was informed that he had passed his last round of National Boards, with not to mention FLYING COLORS! We all knew he'd do great, but it's nice to finally have it done with. Here's a picture of us enjoying rest and relaxation in Playa Del Carmen.

Wow- Time Really Flies!

So here we are...We have a real doctor in the house! After almost 4 years of studying, class, internships, shadowing, exams, and National Boards...Dr. Dohrmann is the real deal! We are so proud of him and can't wait to share with you his knowledge about the human body and how it really works.

The first few picture is of the night before graduation and then the actual graduation itself. We also threw a graduation party which was a great time. Tons of people came to congratulate him! We even had people come into town from Iowa and Florida!!! Thanks to all of you for your support and love!

Plus, we've included a little video clip of Dr. Ben actually walking across the stage. (It's above this blog entry). Congratulations, Ben- We're ALL so proud of you and your accomplishment. We wish the best and the most success possible!

Busy Dr. Ben

Doctor D has been in a whirl-wind lately...which means the rest of his family has too!

He had his 3rd round of Board Reviews for SEVEN days straight, until 9:30 every night about a month ago. He then flew straight to Florida for a business (as well as personal) trip to a chiropractor's seminar and then to shadow/visit a very good friend of his. He was there for almost a week. The Lampe Family welcomed him with open arms, as they always do! Since he's been back, he has been working under a chiropractor in Overland Park, finishing up his business plan, contacting banks, studying for his final round of boards, working on floor plans, and honing in on the practice itself. He was also finishing up with his patients at the clinic and checking out at school with the clinicians. However- the studying part has come to a close. Today he got back from a 4 day trip to Dallas, which is where he took his 4th and FINAL Round of Boards!! No more classes, no more textbooks, no more tests! December 26th will be when he gets his results! :)

3 Fabulous Spots!

We have 3 choices at this point on the location of our future practice! Let us know what you think of the options.

Our first (and this is in no certain order), is in Liberty behind the Bob Evans and beside the Jiffy Lube. It's basically west of I-35 by a few blocks and just north of 152. There are many other shops/restaurants over in this section, not to mention a Super Target, Home Depot, Chili's, etc. This is a brand new building that is owned by Bret Ohlhausen. He has a State Farm office on the left side of the building, and we would most likely occupy the other half. It is really nice, inside and out.

Our second option would be a strip center north of 152 and on the west side of North Oak. They have just recently put in a brand new McDonald's and Taco Bell, a Snap Fitness, a cleaners, a nail salon, and a hair salon too. We anticipate quite a bit of growth in this area 1.) because they have made North Oak now a 4 lane road, and 2.) Staley High School just opened a few months ago! Ben also really likes the idea that it would be more accessible to our Parkville friends, as well as the Liberty community-- A happy medium!

Our third and final option at this point is another strip center on the south side of Hwy 152, also on the west side of North Oak. This particular center has only a nail salon, but we anticipate this being a great location too! It is the most accessible out of the three and would be extrememly convenient for patients. Getting on and off of the highway in a matter of seconds certainly has its benefits! There are other stores in this section too- places you would go to help with your home maintenance and/or decor.
